IDS Network Edition IDS is fully compatible with Windows based LANs. A single IDS workstation, or multiple IDS workstations, may be used to convert paper archives into a searchable, IDS document archive. Document images may then be retrieved from the IDS Archive by all the computers on your LAN – as long has the users have been given access permission. Distributed processing is a method of computing in which different parts of a system run simultaneously on multiple workstations or computers which are communicating over a network. Since the IDS Enterprise Edition uses distributed processing, the system is able to grow as your processing requirements grow by adding additional IDS Workstations and/or computers. The IDS Enterprise Edition has all the functionality of the IDS Network Edition (see above) plus Intranet, VPN (Virtual Private Network), etc. functionality.
